Botanical Gardens
Botanical gardens demand structures that are both stunning and highly functional, and it’s work we’re proud to be trusted with. We collaborate closely with each garden’s architects, engineers, and collection specialists to create environments that protect and showcase their collections for the public to enjoy.
Structure
Built on a hot-dipped galvanized steel frame anchored to a reinforced concrete knee wall. Double-wall extruded aluminum gutters keep condensation minimal – all engineered to integrate cleanly with the surrounding architecture.
Roof
Five independently operated 12′ wide peaks glazed with 8mm twin-wall polycarbonate provide light transmission and precise ventilation control. Each peak opens with its own motorized drive system, and a ridge gutter below each peak allows ventilation even during light rain.
Walls & Glazing
All sidewalls, gables, the entry vestibule, and the interior partition are glazed with 4mm clear tempered glass in mill-finish aluminum frames, with aluminum flashing at every corner and transition for a clean look.
Doors
Three full-glass aluminum storefront-style doors, all with frames, thresholds, closers, hold-open devices, and standard greenhouse hardware:
- Two double passage doors (2 x 36″ wide by 7′ tall)
- One single passage door (42″ wide by 7′ tall)
Ventilation
- Four double-speed exhaust fans
- Three horizontal airflow fans
- Optional fog cooling system with two motorized lift vents, high-pressure fog, reverse osmosis filtration, and a pressure tank
Heating
Two LP gas unit heaters sized for a 60-degree temperature lift keep things warm and consistent throughout the space.
Shade System
A fully automated lay-flat, cable-driven shade system covers two independently controlled growing zones plus the entry vestibule — giving you reliable light and temperature management all year long:
- Harmony 5220 fire-retardant shade cloth
- Automatic vertical roll-up curtain on the west sidewall for added control

Growing Tables
Eight custom heavy-duty rolling tables give you 1,000 sq ft of flexible growing space that adapts to your operation:
- Four tables at 5′ x 22′ and four at 5′ x 18′
- Hot-dipped galvanized steel frames with adjustable levelers for uneven floors
- Sliding aluminum tabletops that shift side to side for easy aisle reconfiguration
